The human condition and questions of identity are central to my practice. My work reflects on the lived experiences of queer people by creating psychological and joyous paintings exploring the queer gaze. I imagine painted worlds that explore intimacy and celebrate desire, making it a shared experience. Paintings initiate from memory and in response to found imagery and personal photography, where the act of painting becomes a means to investigate how desire is elicited, both in public and private.

Mixing and layering in paint, memories, observations and emotions, my paintings often begin in response to the notion that the body cannot be thought without space, and vice versa. The subjects depicted exist within and as part of a range of environments, which are both strange and familiar. Often, the architectural space expands and becomes a body, and the body becomes architecture. Archetypical homosocial spaces take precedence in the work and are used to explore the psychological magnetism of other bodies.
